SAN ANGELO, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball opened its weekend road trip with a three-set loss to Angelo State, losing 25-9, 26-24, 25-17.
The Rambelles hit an efficient .533 in the first set with five kills on seven attacks each from Madi Parrish and Hannah Kinnison. The Hilltoppers responded with a competitive second set featuring 13 ties and nine lead changes, with
ADDY BADLEY leading the way with four of the Hilltoppers' 10 kills and a block assist. Angelo State led from start to finish in the third set to clinch the match.
LAUREN SCOTT led St. Edward's with eight kills on a .200 shooting percentage, and Badley had six kills on a .333 clip.
JORDAN CHAPMAN led the team in assists with nine, and
NATALIA WALLS and
JAIDEN LAVANWAY had two service aces each.
Kinnison led Angelo State with 17 kills on a .556 hitting percentage. Laney Dale posted three service aces.
St. Edward's falls to 7-14 with a 3-6 conference record. The Hilltoppers will travel to play Texas Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas, tomorrow at 2 p.m.
