DALLAS, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball team dropped its road match against Dallas Baptist in three sets, falling 25-16, 25-10, 25-16 to the Patriots.
Dallas Baptist broke open an early back-and-forth first set with 7-1 and 8-1 runs behind eight first-set kills from Delany Fuller.
DELANEY GREGORY led the Hilltoppers with five kills in the set. The Patriots outhit the Hilltoppers .265 to .114.
The Patriots were more efficient in the second set, hitting .367 with nine combined kills from Shaylee Shore and Karly Wells.
Dallas Baptist closed the match with a .452 hitting percentage in set three, getting four kills each from Fuller and Wells.
Gregory led St. Edward's with nine kills on a .238 hitting percentage. She also tied
SARAH KONOVODOFF for a team-high seven digs. Fuller led Dallas Baptist with 15 kills.
St. Edward's drops to 7-19 with a 3-11 conference record. The Hilltoppers will celebrate senior day on Saturday against UT Tyler.
