Three All-Conference Seniors Lead Men's Cross Country To Second-Place Finish at LSC Championships

| By:
KINGSVILLE, Texas – St. Edward's top three men's cross country seniors made program history at the Lone Star Conference Championships, delivering all-conference performances to lead the Hilltoppers to a second-place finish.

OMAR GUZMAN paced St. Edward's with a top-10 finish, clocking 24:36.50 to finish ninth. His brother, IVAN GUZMAN, followed closely behind in 12th place at 24:40.34, and DYLAN SEQUEIRA earned the final all-conference spot with a 15th-place time of 24:59.59.

The top 15 finishers at the conference meet earn all-conference honors, and the three all-conference performances are the most in program history. It is Sequeira's third all-conference award in four seasons, and both Guzman brothers earned their first all-conference award.

First-year ARLO GONZALES finished just outside the top 25, finishing the race in 25:38.07 to place 27th, and HOGAN HEIKKINEN rounded out the Hilltoppers' top five at 25:57.53, placing 33rd.

AJ PENA (37th, 26:09.52), WILLIAM SULENTICH (48th, 26:38.31), MELECIO ORTIZ (62nd, 27:07.21), PARKER STEVENS (73rd, 27:36.84), and Gabe Hernandez (76th, 27:48.07) also competed. The second-place finish ties the program's best, tying the team's 2021 performance. West Texas A&M repeated as conference Champions, taking the top five spots in the race.

St. Edward's will return to action at the South Central Regional on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Washington Park in Denver, Colo.
