The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its South Central Region Poll, listing St. Edward's baseball as ninth in a region comprised of the Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Â
St. Edward's is 4-6 with a 4-4 conference record following a 3-1 series loss to nationally-ranked West Texas A&M, which took over the top spot in the rankings with a 10-2 record and seven of the committee's eight first-place votes.
Â
The NCBWA Regional polls are assembled by a committee of eight members with four representatives from each conference. Neither the region nor the national NCBWA poll has any direct correlation to which teams advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
St. Edward's hosts Eastern New Mexico in a four-game series starting Friday, with a doubleheader on Saturday and concluding Sunday.
