SAN ANGELO, Texas – St. Edward's women's track & field set a new 4x400-meter relay program record, and
JULIANA MERLO and
SARAH WILLSON pulled double-duty for the Hilltoppers, with each earning points in two events on the final day of the Lone Star Conference Championships.
Merlo kicked off St. Edward's afternoon in the 1,500-meter finals, securing the Hilltoppers a point with an eighth-place time of 4:46.64. Merlo returned to the track later in the day alongside teammate
SARAH WILLSON for the 800-meter finals. Willson clocked a 2:17.14 to place sixth in her first conference championships. Merlo finished eighth at 2:18.95. Both claimed points for St. Edward's.
JENNA SAUNDERS and
JORDAN SANDERS represented St. Edward's in the 5,000-meter run. Saunders led the way with a 21st-place finish at 18:57.33, and Sanders followed in 23rd at 19:38.54.
St. Edward's closed the day in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of

VICTORIA HINOJOSA, and
SARAH WILLSON put another point on the board for St. Edward's, placing eighth with a time of 3:54.52 to break the school record.
