AUSTIN, Texas — Battling rain, cooler temperatures, and shifting conditions at Mike A. Myers Stadium, St. Edward's women's track & field closed the regular season at the Texas Invitational with a steady, workmanlike performance ahead of the Lone Star Conference Championships.

Competing against a deep field that included athletes from the University of Texas and other Division I programs, the Hilltoppers leaned into the elements and used the meet as a final opportunity to sharpen execution across multiple event groups.

On the track, the sprint group set the tone early in the 100 meters, with JASMINE COOKE leading St. Edward's in seventh at 12.65, followed closely by MYOSIA VIRGIN (12.97), ADDISON CERVANTEZ (13.05), and MICHELLE HERNANDEZ (13.41) in a tightly packed field . Cooke doubled back in the 200 meters to pace the Hilltoppers again at 25.11, while EMORY LIMUEL (25.76), ISABELLA BICKHAM (26.43), SARAH-CATHERINE CHAPMAN (26.62), CADENCE COLICHER (27.16), and Cervantez (27.24) added depth through multiple heats.

Chapman also delivered in the 400 meters, placing seventh in 1:01.95 while navigating damp conditions that tested rhythm and pacing.
In the distance events, BRIANNE VASQUEZ turned in a strong effort in the 5,000 meters, finishing seventh in 19:24.41, maintaining consistency through a race that required patience and control amid the weather.

In the field, EVELYN ELLIS highlighted the day with a personal-best leap of 5.26 meters in the long jump, finishing ninth overall and continuing her upward trajectory at the right time in the season. LAUREN SANCHEZ added a 4.85-meter effort, contributing to the Hilltoppers' presence in the event.

Across the board, St. Edward's showed balance and resilience, using the final regular-season meet to compete through adverse conditions, refine race execution, and build confidence heading into the postseason.

With the Lone Star Conference Championships on deck, the Hilltoppers leave Austin battle-tested and prepared for the next stage of the season.
