Men's Cross Country Gives Strong Performance in Denver

| By:
DENVER – Competing for a third consecutive weekend, this time at a mile-high altitude, the St. Edward's men's cross country team put together a strong fourth-place performance at the MSU-Denver Roadrunner Invitational.

St. Edward's put three in the top 30, paced by OMAR GUZMAN's 18th-place 25:26.4 finish. DYLAN SEQUEIRA followed closely behind at 25:30.8 to finish 20th, and IVAN GUZMAN clocked a 25:44.8 for 28th. HOGAN HEIKKINEN and ARLO GONZALES rounded out St. Edward's top five at 26:21.3 and 26:46.3 to finish 52nd and 81st. AJ PENA (114th, 27:29.2) and WILLIAM SULENTICH (122nd, 27:46.9) also competed.

"I love the way our guys responded today. There were a lot of challenges, but they showed up anyway. I'm thrilled with our top three. Dylan ran a much better race, and that helped a lot," St. Edward's Head Cross Country Coach Steven Cary says. "We still have to close some of the gaps in our top five and seven, but we're getting there. Guys just keep showing up and putting in solid efforts. We're looking forward to a weekend off and then heading to Dallas in two weeks."

St. Edward's will compete at the Dallas Baptist University Old Glory Gallop on Saturday, October 5, at 8:15 a.m. The event will be held in Lynn Creek Park.
