NORMAN, Okla. – St. Edward's men's track and field participated in its first meet of 2025 at Oklahoma University's Owen Hewitt Invitational, sending its sprinters to participate in a field of all three NCAA Divisions.
St. Edward's veteran sprinters
ANDRE MOORE and
MARCUS AGUINALDO set the tone with personal bests to lead the Hilltoppers in the 60 meters open preliminaries. Moored clocked a 7.20 to place 26th and tie his personal best, followed closely by Aguinaldo in 29th with a new one at 7.22.
CRISTIAN MENDOZA ran a 7.37 to place 49th, and
GEORGE SHELTON in 53rd at 7.39.
Mendoza paced three Hilltoppers in the 200 meters open with a time of 23.84.
GEORGE SHELTON followed in 47th at 25.01, and
DAVID MARQUEZ in 56th at 26.37. Marquez also participated in the men's long jump open, leaping a distance of 5.98 meters to place 20th.
St. Edward's will travel to Houston next week to participate in the FasTrack Athletix Indoor College Challenge on Jan. 25, hosted by the University of Houston.
