CANYON, Texas — St. Edward's volleyball dropped a straight-sets match (12–25, 12–25, 12–25) to West Texas A&M on Friday night at the WTAMU Fieldhouse.
The Hilltoppers (8–11, 5–9 LSC) faced one of the Lone Star Conference's top teams in the No. 15-ranked Lady Buffs (20–5, 12–2 LSC), who hit an efficient .450 on the night while holding St. Edward's to a .059 attack percentage.
ADDY BADLEY led the Hilltoppers' attack with seven kills, while
CARRINGTON JAIMES added four kills and hit .429. Setter
ALTHEA MORRIS recorded a team-high 21 assists while libero
GISELLE OJEDA anchored the back row with nine digs.
MIA CLAY chipped in six kills.
Despite competitive stretches early in each set, the Hilltoppers struggled to match the Lady Buffs' offensive rhythm. West Texas A&M's Kaycee Cavanaugh (12 kills, .455 hitting) and Taytum Stow (10 kills, three block assists) powered the home team, who also out-blocked St. Edward's 9.0 to 3.0.
St. Edward's returns to action on Saturday, continuing its Lone Star Conference road trip with a matchup at Eastern New Mexico University.
