AUSTIN, Texas – Texas A&M International stunned St. Edward's baseball behind balanced hitting and a strong pitching performance from Omar Rodriguez to open the four-game series with a 14-5 win over the Hilltoppers.

KOBE JARAMILLO early, loading the bases with one out in the first inning on two singles and an error before a
TRAVIS CHESTNUT ended the inning with a 4-3 double play to escape unscathed.
After stranding two more runners in the second, Texas A&M International broke through with a two-run blast from Eddie Saenz at the top of the third, driving in Omar Cervantes, who hit a two-out double.
Issac Stanwick hit a leadoff single in the fourth and advanced to third on two wild pitches but came out on the wrong end of testing right fielder

Texas A&M International scored three runs in the fifth, getting an RBI single from Abiam Medina and plating two more runs on an error for the 5-0 lead.
NIC LUNA came out of the bullpen in the sixth, retired the side in order, and
NICHOLAS ANDERSON hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the inning, later scoring on an error. Cervantes answered in the top of the seventh with an RBI single, and Joseph Cruz tacked on two more in the eighth with a blast to left field.
Rodriguez went seven innings for Texas A&M International, striking out six with only one walk, two hits, and an unearned run allowed.
St. Edward's broke through against the Dustdevil bullpen in the eighth, sparked by two walks and an infield single to load the bases. Little drove in

MARCO BARRERA followed with an RBI single, a pitch hit
CARLO FIGUEROA with bases loaded, and
TREVOR SEBEK hit a sac fly to bring St. Edward's to within 8-5.
The Hilltopper bullpen went through four pitchers in the ninth, surrendering six runs, highlighted by a grand slam home run from Haziel Cruz. Little added an RBI single through the right side in the ninth.
St. Edward's drops to 28-15 with a 27-14 conference record. The Hilltoppers will continue the series tomorrow, hosting TAMIU in a doubleheader at noon.
