AUSTIN, Texas — ALTHEA MORRIS continues to set the pace for a surging St. Edward's volleyball team, earning Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week honors Tuesday after directing the Hilltoppers to three consecutive sweeps.

The junior from Los Angeles averaged 12.89 assists per set and guided St. Edward's to a .313 hitting percentage in wins over UT Dallas, Oklahoma Christian, and Cameron. Morris contributed across the court, adding 23 digs, five service aces, three kills, and a block over nine sets.

The award is Morris' second of the season, following her first selection Sept. 8.

With Morris distributing the offense, the Hilltoppers have found the balance and efficiency to turn their late-season push into a climb up the conference standings. St. Edward's has won seven of its past eight matches, including four straight, improving to 14-9 overall and 9-4 in LSC play.

Morris' production has been as consistent as it has been prolific. She leads the conference with 10.96 assists per set and has recorded at least 34 assists in 19 consecutive matches.

St. Edward's enters the final two weeks of the regular season tied for fourth in the LSC alongside Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT Dallas. The Hilltoppers return to the Recreation and Athletics Center this week to host West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
