Junior (2013-14): Appeared in 26 games while starting in 24 in his second season on the Hilltop…averaged 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest…was third on the team with 24.7 minutes per game…led the Hilltoppers with 146 defensive rebounds, 76 offensive rebounds, and 62 blocks…scored a season-high 20 points in a victory over Huston-Tillotson (11/21/13)…recorded 19 points and 13 rebounds in win versus Open Bible College (12/07/13)…tallied another double-double in their second conference victory against Newman (12/21/13)…scored 10 points and secured 10 rebounds in a back-and-forth game against Panhandle State (02/08/14).
Sophomore (2012-13): Saw action in 32 games while starting in nine in his first year at St. Edward’s…finished first on the Hilltopper squad and second in the Heartland Conference with 42 blocks… also finished second on the team with 6.3 rebounds per game…in the conference he ranked fifth for offensive rebounds and sixth overall in rebounding…also averaged 6.8 points per game…completed the season with two double-doubles…his best game was his first as a Hilltopper against Texas A&M Commerce (11/09/12)…in that contest he scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots.
Freshman (Murray State) (2011-12): Joined the nationally-ranked Murray State Racers for the 2011-12 season and saw limited action in six games…averaged a tough 2.7 minutes per contest…Murray State was the last undefeated team in Division I basketball, winning 23-straight games…made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed and advancing to the second round before losing to No. 3 seed Marquette.
Prep: Lettered four years at Pearland High School for coach Steve Buckcrew…was named first-team all-district during his junior and senior years…averaged 15.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks a game during his senior year…his efforts helped him become the MVP of the team…was a member of the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society…graduated top-10 percent of his class.
Personal: Harley Smith Nussman was born on Nov. 10, 1992…son of Michael Knoll and Stephanie Nussman of Pearland, Texas…has four siblings: Alexander (25), Levi (19), Cassidy (17), and Claudia (17)…currently studying biology at St. Edward’s with career hopes of entering the health field…enjoys playing basketball and video games…also likes to listen to music and spend time relaxing.
