2012 (Junior): Appeared in 17 matches while starting in 16… took 10 shots in a total of 1,188 minutes… two shots on goal… his best match was against McMurry (9/22) where he helped the Hilltoppers in the 2-0 victory with three shots and one shot on goal.
 
2011 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 18 matches while starting in 17…played a grand total of 1,624 minutes…recorded an assist against UT-Permian Basin (9/16/11).
 
2010 (Freshman): Appeared and started in all 18 matches for the Hilltoppers…played a total of 1,423 minutes throughout the season…helped the Hilltoppers earn a conference record of 6-2…scored the game winner against St. Mary’s (10/29/11)…recorded an assist against UT-Permian Basin (11/5/11).
 
Club: Competed for the Texas Football Club in the Dallas Classic League for eight years, and Premier League for 2 years.
 
Prep: Earned first-team all-district honors his junior and senior years…Allen High School Player of the Year Varsity Soccer Award…varsity soccer captain junior and senior year…helped the varsity soccer team advance to the 5A state playoffs all four years…second-team all-district 5A Football as a senior…second-team Academic all-state 5A Football as a senior…captured football 5A state championship during his junior year…was a member of the National Honor Society and the Young Men’s Service League.
 
Personal: Matthew Robert McLaughlin was born on November 12, 1991…son of Michael and Kimberly McLaughlin of Allen, Texas…has two siblings: Samantha (20) and Andrew (17)…business administration major with goals of earning his MBA by 2016…enjoyed traveling to Europe as part of the Stars and Stripes International Soccer Team.
