Freshman (Southern Miss) (2012): Appeared in nine matches while starting one in her first year at Southern Miss…recorded seven kills for a 0.70 kills per set average…tallied five digs resulting in 0.50 digs per set.
 
Club: Played her club volleyball for Willowbrook Juniors.
 
Prep: Attended and lettered three years on the volleyball team at Klein Collins High School…in 2009 she helped her team advance to the first round of the playoffs…she was named to the second-team all-district team the same season…she helped her team accomplish the same feats in 2010…was able to set the service ace record in 2010…named first-team all-district and was voted team MVP in 2011…broke her own ace record by recording 91 and helped her team win the co-district championship…was on the AVCA 2011-12 Under Armour Girls’ High School All-American Watch List…named honorable mention all-state in 2011…was featured in Aug. 2011 issue of VYPE Volleyball Magazine…finished her season with 337 kills and 192 digs…member of the National Honor Society in 2010 and graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average.
 
Personal: Heidi Elaine Otto was born on Dec. 22, 1993…daughter of Glenn and Janet Otto of Spring, Texas…has three siblings Janice (34), Cody (29), and Glenn (16)…plans to study English/Writing at St. Edward’s with hopes of going to Law School…her hobbies include swimming, shopping, watching movies and reading…her biggest athletic thrill came at the club level when her team played against Texas Pride’s top team, everyone expected a monster defeat, instead her team went the distance and it was the best that she ever played.
