Ransom LaLonde

Ransom LaLonde '14 was promoted to associate head coach of the St. Edward’s baseball team in the summer of 2023. He joined the coaching staff as an assistant in August 2021, following a successful playing career at the Hilltop and his service as a graduate assistant.

In two seasons as associate head coach, LaLonde has helped guide the Hilltoppers to two LSC Tournament appearances and an NCAA Regional appearance in 2025. That season, the Hilltoppers set program records for runs scored (466), RBIs (421), and walks (353).

St. Edward’s has earned three NCAA Regional appearances in LaLonde’s time on the coaching staff.

LaLonde played for the Hilltoppers from 2012 to 2014 and helped the program win back-to-back Heartland Conference Tournament Championships. The Tulsa, Okla., native was a three-time All-Heartland honoree and an honorable-mention all-region pick in 2013.

After exhausting his eligibility with the Hilltoppers, LaLonde played five seasons of professional baseball between two independent leagues. He spent the 2014 season with the Amarillo Sox of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. He then signed with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League. After three-and-a-half seasons in Crestwood, Ill., LaLonde completed the 2018 campaign with the River City Rascals.
