A two-year letterwinner for head coach Kyle Smith at San Antonio Warren High School and a two-year letterwinner for head coach Byron Mello at Moanalua High School in Honolulu, Hawaii...at Moanalua HS, Johnson was the Basketball Athlete/Scholar of the Year as a sophomore...named second-team all-district and the district's co-newcomer of the year, while averaging 10.4 ppg and 10.1 rpg his junior season at Warren HS...averaged 14.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists amd 1.0 blocks in an injury-shortened senior season only playing 12 games...was a member of the National Honor Society and the A-B Honor Roll.
