Sophomore (2013-14): Appeared in 18 games in his first season at St. Edward’s…scored 2.3 points per game while playing 5.8 minutes…shot better than 42 percent from the field and better than 44 percent from beyond the arc…scored eight points and shot 40 percent from the three-point line against Austin College (11/09/13).
 
Freshman (Southern Utah (2012-13)): Saw action in nine games at Southern Utah in his only season…averaged 2.3 minutes per game in his only year with the Thunderbirds.
 
Prep: Lettered two years at Grace Prep Academy in Arlington, Texas and two years at Van High School in Van, Texas…at Van, he was an all-district selection as well as Newcomer of the Year as a freshman…scored a career high 27 points as a freshman in his first varsity game at Van High School…in his first season with Grace Prep, he was selected to the all-district first-team and won offensive player of the year…first-team all-district and second-team all-state…led Grace Prep to back-to-back state titles…his team was ranked #2 nationally by ESPN in 2012.
 
Personal: Zachary Tannes Ghormley was born on Aug. 4, 1993…son of Ken and Sheoi Ghormley of Arlington, Texas…has five siblings: Kenny (27), Meaghan (25), Caleb (19), Evan (16), and Noah (14)… plans to study finance at St. Edward’s with career hopes of becoming a financial planner…his hobbies include playing basketball, spending time with family, and swimming…his biggest athletic thrill is making a buzzer beater to win the district championship his sophomore year…another athletic thrill was winning back-to-back state championships.
