Junior (2015-16): Started all 29 games at the point guard position for the Hilltoppers…led the team in points (13.8) and assists (4.4) per game…scored in double figures in 23 of 29 games…had a season-high 33 points in a road-victory over UT-Permian Basin (1/7)…had double-doubles vs. Merrimack (11/28) and St. Mary’s (1/16)…narrowly missed a triple-double versus Huston-Tillotson (11/21) with 11 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

Sophomore 2014-15 (Blinn JC): Averaged 7.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game for the Buccaneers…was named all-conference and honorable mention all-region for a team that finished 20-11 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament.

Freshman 2013-14 (Blinn JC): Averaged 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game after making 34 appearances and 18 starts…helped lead team to a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament Elite 8 with a 28-7 record.

Prep: A four-year letterwinner for head coach Micah Goebel at Snook High School…was named first-team all-district and the district’s most valuable player her sophomore through senior seasons…also named first-team all-state her senior season…helped lead team to a state championship her junior season…also a four-time state champion in the 400-meter dash for track and field.

Personal: Shakera Crishelle Barnes was born July 9, 1995…daughter of Darrell Moore and Rameka Barnes…has six siblings: Ashley, De’Ara, Darian, Darrell, Dennis, and Nyasia…majoring in kinesiology at St. Edward’s with plans to be a basketball coach…lists watching movies and shopping as her hobbies.
