DALLAS, Texas – St. Edward's junior guard MADDIE WHEELER was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week on Monday for the week of January 27^th – February 2^nd. This is Wheeler's first Heartland Conference honor of the 2013-14 season.
 
Wheeler had another big week for the Hilltoppers as she led them to a victory over Oklahoma Christian, 78-72. For the game, Wheeler scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds, four of which came on the offensive glass. She was efficient when scoring, as she was 60% from the field and better than 85% from the free throw line. Wheeler also turned up the intensity on defense with three steals.
 
The Cedar Park, Texas native leads the Hilltoppers in scoring column with 16.1 points per contest. She also is ranked sixth in scoring within the Heartland Conference.  Wheeler leads her team and is fourth in the conference with 42 steals; good enough for a 2.3 steals per game average.
