AUSTIN, Texas – It was “Senior Day” on the Hilltop Saturday afternoon and the 10th-ranked St. Edward's Women's Soccer team sent its two seniors out in style with an 8-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian at Lewis-Chen Family Field.

Seniors ADRIANNA FERRARI and OLIVIA COLLADO were honored before the game. RACHEL MURRAY honored them in the fourth minute when she put the Hilltoppers (13-1) ahead early on a goal from a through ball played by LAUREN HELLER.

For the next 30 minutes, St. Edward's sent nine shots on goal, including two shots that hit the post, but could not get its second goal. Finally, in the 34th minute, Murray notched her second goal of the game on an assist from MIKAYLA ENGEL.

In the 40th minute, Engel got on the scoreboard herself when she scored from 15 yards out off of a pass from TAYLOR SETTECERRI. The two would connect again in the 42nd minute when Engel scored on a header to the far post.

EMILY WRIGHT capped off the scoring in the first half when scored on a through ball from Settecerri with just 15 seconds left before the break.

In the second half, Murray scored for her first hat trick of the season off of a cornerkick. It came in the 48th minute and TAYLOR WISEMAN played the cornerkick to MEGAN ANDERSON, who headed it over to Murray for the goal.

Engel, to not be outdone, tallied her hat trick in the 48th minute on a free kick. Collado took the chance from 25 yards out and found Murray near the end line, who volleyed to Engel for the goal.

VALENCIA MOBLEY scored the final goal on the day in the 72nd minute. She would score on a follow-up shot after a save by the Eagle goalkeeper.

St. Edward's would dominate the shot total, 28-2. They also sent 16 shots on goal compared to zero for Oklahoma Christian.

"Today was a great team performance," head coach Nick Cowell said. "We wanted to play hard for our seniors and also increase the level of our intensity from the first game we played OC. I was happy with the way Settecerri was creating opportunities and the way Murray and Engel finished their chances. We want to improve as the season moves towards the playoffs."

That victory was the fourth-straight for the Hilltoppers and keeps St. Edward's in a tie for first place in the Heartland Conference standings with Dallas Baptist.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action Thursday when they travel to take on UT-Permian Basin. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. in Odessa, Texas. Live stats will be available on the Falcon Athletic Website.
