SEARCY, Ark. – SHIMEEK JOHNSON scored a team high 14 points as the Hilltoppers dropped their second game of the season to Harding, 79-62 at the Rhodes Field House during non-conference action.
 
St. Edward's (3-2) started the game slow, scoring just one basket during the first eight minutes of action. HARLEY NUSSMAN scored the lone bucket for the Hilltoppers as they quickly fell behind 21-3. 
 
After the second media timeout of the first-half, JEFF CAMPBELL and Johnson combined to score seven points to cut the lead to 13 points. The Bison would regain their 18-point lead with buckets by Zach Roddenberry and Spencer Bradley. The two teams would exchange baskets for the remainder of the half with the Bison taking a 48-28 advantage into the locker room.
 
Johnson would open the second half of action with five points, but that's all the Hilltoppers would see until the 16:34 mark of the half when TYLER FOSTER would connect on a jumper.
 
The Hilltoppers went on an 11-0 run that would see the Bison lead evaporate to single digits. Zach Roddenberry would score for Harding to push the lead back to 11, but Foster would respond with a 3-point field goal to cut the lead to eight points.
 
St. Edward's would not get any closer as Harding would end the game on 17-8 run as they sealed the victory. Roddenberry scored 30 points and recorded a career-high 16 rebounds for Harding.
 
Foster would finish scoring in double figures scoring 13 points. CHRIS WACKER and Zillijan Jones each contributed nine points. Nussman hauled in 10 rebounds with four coming on the offensive side of the floor. 
 
The Hilltoppers will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Kingsville to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Kingsville Hampton Inn Court. Live video and stats will be available through the Javelinas website.
