How it Happened
-St. Edward's struck first in the second inning.
FAITH ROBERTS doubled to right field and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
KENDALL LUCAS brought Roberts home on a sacrifice fly.
-In the third inning, the Hilltoppers would have two hits, but would leave three runners on.
-The Hilltoppers scored three runs in the fourth inning. With
LAURA ALVARADO on first,
CYDNEY ERVIN singled to the pitcher. A throwing error by the pitcher allowed Ervin to reach second and for Alvarado to score. Then,
TORI GONZALEZ homered to left field to bring in herself and Ervin.
-St. Edward's added two more runs in the fifth inning. With Lucas on second and Valdez on third,
KP PERCH pinch hit for Alvarado and hit a single up the middle to bring both runners home.
-Newman scored its only run in the fifth inning. Molly Hein was brought in off a sacrifice fly by Makenzie Flaska.

SARAH DEBROW allowed just six hits and struck out five batters in seven innings. Debrow improves to 14-7 on the season.
-Gonzalez and Thome each had two hits in the game. Thome is tied for third on the team with 33 hits on the year.
