AUSTIN, Texas—The St. Edward's Volleyball team swept Huston-Tillotson, 3-0, in a Thursday evening match-up in the RCC.
The Hilltopper seniors celebrated their senior night by putting forth a dominating performance to control the Rams in three sets. St. Edward's managed to hold Huston-Tilltoson to a negative hitting percentage each set.
In the first set, the home team capitalized on an early lead by taking a 9-0 run mid-match. At 17-2, the Hilltoppers did not look back. They went on to win, 25-6. Senior

St. Edward's saw its best hitting percentage of the match in set two, registering a .522. The visitors had no answer and were held to just eight points. The Hilltoppers ran away with the second set victory, 25-8.
Trying to avoid the sweep, the Rams came out swinging in the third set. At five points all, St. Edward's stepped on the gas. A nine-point run would put Huston-Tillotson on it's heels and give the Hilltoppers the set, 25-10.
Senior
MARY KOEHLER led all scorers with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .667.
KATIE MARTIN also contributed offensively, tallying nine kills.

JACLYN BILLIE split setting duties, recording 10 and 11 assists, respectively. Senior libero
KELLY JIMENEZ saw a match-high 22 digs.
St. Edward's will travel to Fort Smith, Ark. to compete in the Heartland Conference Tournament. The Hilltoppers are set to take on the Newman Jets in their opening match on Fri.
