Junior (2013): Played in 30 matches during her junior season…recorded 120 assists for third on the team…switched to outside hitter during the season and became a regular starter…finished the season with 140 kills…helped produce 158.5 total points which was fifth on the team…tallied a season high 19 kills against Dallas Baptist (11/9) at the end of the regular season and tallied 18 kills against DBU (11/22) in the Heartland Conference Tournament.
 
Sophomore (2012): Played in 18 matches during her first season on the Hilltop…recorded 134 assists for third on the team…tallied a 3.44 assists per set average…contributed 15 points on the season…her best performance came against Texas Woman’s (11/1) when she played in four sets and had four kills.
 
Freshman (Sam Houston State) (2011): Redshirted the season…named to the 2011 Dean’s List.
 
Club: Played her club volleyball on the Austin Performance Volleyball team…in 2010, she earned the Austin Performance Volleyball Pinnacle Award for outstanding character, work ethic and commitment.

Prep: Competed for four years at James Bowie High School…her senior season, she earned academic all-district, team most valuable player, first-team all-district, and was district 15-5A Setter of the Year…she also led her team to a AISD Tournament championship and bi-district championship…her junior season, she earned academic all-district, team most valuable player, and first-team all-district…she helped her team to a bi-district championship.

Personal: Amy Leigh Jones was born on July 12, 1993…daughter of Brian and Sandy Jones of Austin, Texas…has one sibling: Bobby (23)…studying biology at St. Edward’s and aspires to become a veterinarian…enjoys volunteering at the local animal shelter, spending time outdoors, and going out to the lake…her biggest athletic thrill is being the underdog and defeating the favored opponent.
