EDMOND, Okla. – St. Edward's junior forward
JENNIFER BOUDREAU tallied a goal and an assist to lead #25 St. Edward's past Oklahoma Christian, 3-0 Thursday evening at Eagle Field. The match was the Heartland Conference opener for both teams.
St. Edward's (5-2, 1-0 HC) could not have asked for a better start. With just 53 seconds ticked off of the clock, senior defender
KATIE DONAHUE scored on a chip shot from 25 yards out. The Hilltoppers would dominate the first half, outshooting the Eagles, 7-1, however St. Edward's would have nothing else to show for it. The visitors took a 1-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Hilltoppers finally broke through in the 77
th minute. Boudreau got a pass down the left side. She received the ball and turned and just went. Her shot from 12 yards out found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Boudreau was involved in the final goal scored for St. Edward's in the 82
nd minute of play. She sent a shot on goal that the Eagle Goalkeeper could not handle. The rebound was right there for
MORGAN PALMER for her second goal of the season.
St. Edward's outshot Oklahoma Christian, 17-6 for the match.
