THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas –The No. 50 St. Edward's men's tennis team (18-9, 4-0) are the regular season Heartland Conference Champions for the tenth time after dismantling Dallas Baptist (13-6, 0-4), 8-1 Friday at the Austin Tennis Academy to claim the title for the eighth time in the last ten years.
 
The onslaught began early with ANDRE MERCADO/ZAC ROBINSON setting the tone with a clean 8-0 win over DBU's Cannon Jones/Jacob Delao. DAVOR IVKOVIC/CHASE MOREHOUSE won court No. 2, 8-3, and LUIS DIAZ/CHASE BARTLETT completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 victory over Nick Gilmore/Riley Smith. LOGAN BUIGNET recorded the first singles win after defeating Patriots' Riley Smith 6-1, 6-0, and senior SOTIRIS TSIOUMAS clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Josh Williams. SEU went on to win the next three matches and ultimately win it all, 8-1.

• LUIS DIAZ sets the new single-season record with 24 singles wins after defeating Nathan Torres, 6-4, 6-2.
• Senior DAVOR IVKOVIC defeated Jacob Brooks, 6-1, 6-2.
• Davor recorded his 40^th career doubles victory and 16^th of the season.
• #41 CHASE BARTLETT defeated Cannon Jones, 6-4, 7-6.
• CHASE MOREHOUSE recorded his 35^th career doubles win

Head Coach Estevam Strecker's on team second Heartland Conference Championship in four years…
"Today was the result of months of work. Since day one, the goal has been to win conference. I am so happy and proud of this team for sticking to the plan and trusting each other and fighting for each other. I do not take anything for granted and know it is not easy to win conference so we will celebrate it this weekend. I also hope this makes them even hungrier because we still have a lot of opportunities out there and goals to reach."
