SAN ANTONIO – The No.12 St. Edward's men's tennis team opened up conference play with a 5-2 victory over St. Mary's on Saturday.
 
The Hilltoppers started brightly, winning all three doubles matches to clinch the opening point. ABHI RAMIREDDY and JESSE WIKSO pushed past Sebastian Aczui and Daniel Gill at #3 doubles, 6-0, and ZAC ROBINSON and LUIS DIAZ took down Bojan Popovic and Sausaurav Konakanchi, 6-2. ANISH SRINIKETH and CHASE BARTLETT completed the doubles sweep with a tight 7-6 victory on the top line.
 
St. Edward's rode the momentum into singles play, with LUIS DIAZ making quick work of Louis Bonnay at #5 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and JESSE WIKSO defeating Leon Hein, 6-3, 6-1. PATRYK KOSINSKI solidified the win for SEU by downing Brendan Brown, 6-3, 6-3. CHASE BARTLETT followed suit, securing his match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Alex Gee.
 
St. Edward's continues its impressive run, improving to 9-1 on the season. The Hilltoppers are next in action on Friday, March 13 at the San Antonio Intercollegiate Championships in San Antonio.
