Men's tennis to compete at ITA National Tournament

Four Hilltoppers to compete in ITA National Tournament


AUSTIN – Four St. Edward's men's tennis student-athletes will compete in the ITA National Tournament, Oct. 17-20, at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.

ABHI RAMIREDDY and JESSE WIKSO won the doubles draw at the ITA South Central Region Championship on Oct. 6. It marked the first tournament the duo had ever played together as a doubles team. The pairing will open the tournament with a matchup against the overall third-seeded team of Yohan Nguyen and Florian Simbozel from Valdosta State. The match is scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m. (CT) Thursday.

ANISH SRINIKETH won the singles draw at the regional championship without dropping a set. He finished runner-up at the regional a year ago, but will compete as the lone singles representative for the Hilltoppers this week. Sriniketh was awarded the No. 3 overall seed in the singles draw. He will face Indianapolis' Renato Lima at 9 a.m. (CT) Thursday in the opening round.

Meanwhile, Sriniketh and CHASE BARTLETT were named as at-large selections in the doubles draw on Tuesday evening. Bartlett and Sriniketh will play UC San Diego's pairing of Zachary Emert and Sreeganesh Manoharan at 1 p.m. (CT) Thursday.
