DENVER, Colo. - After battling tough weather conditions the St. Edward's Baseball team emerged with a 7-4 win over Regis Sunday.

Regis got on the board with a run in the bottom of the first, but SEU responded with two in the second and never trailed again. ROBBIE LAMMONS and DYLAN MACKIN drew back-to-back walks to open the inning and JACOB VASQUEZ brought the first run across with a single up the middle. MATTHEW JIMENEZ drove in the second run of the inning to put the Hilltoppers up 2-1.

A three-run fourth inning gave St. Edward's the breathing room they were looking for. RYAN MCPHAIL singled through the right side to bring home ZACH SCHINDLER and Vasquez. MORGAN ALLEN's sacrifice fly scored the final run of the inning, sending the Hilltoppers into the bottom half of the inning with a 5-1 advantage.

BLAKE HOLUB homered to open the fifth inning and Schindler drove in Lammons with two outs to bring the count to 7-3 by the fifth. Regis managed one run in the bottom of the seventh but SEU secured the final out before the win was ever threatened.

Holub and Vasquez both went 2-4 from the plate with one RBI and one run scored each. RYAN MCPHAIL led with two RBIs. KOEHLER VANDAMENT earned the win while Holub got the save, allowing one run on three hits.

The Hilltoppers improve to 4-1 on the year and return home for a four-game series against Drury beginning on Friday at 1:30 pm.
