Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – SEU Men's Tennis had to battle back from a deficit, winning the first four singles matches to defeat Trinity 4-3 Saturday.
St. Edward's fell behind early, dropping two of three doubles matches to start out down 0-1.
LUIS DIAZ and
ANISH SRINIKETH were the only duo to secure a win in doubles, defeating Pitts/Lambeth 6-5 in the #1 slot.
Sirinketh rode the momentum into his singles match-up, making quick work of Jordan Pitts at #1 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
GABRIEL ZUNIGA followed suit at #3 singles, winning 6-4, 6-4, as did
MATEUS DE COL who won #6 singles 6-3, 6-2 to put SEU up 3-1.
NICO MERCADO solidified the win by downing Akagi-Okuma at #5 singles, winning 6-1, 7-5.
LOGAN BUIGNET was edged out in his sets at #4 singles, falling 7-5, 7-5 while
LUIS DIAZ had the toughest match-up of the day at #2 singles, falling 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The Hilltoppers improve to 2-3 on the year with the win. They return to action on Saturday, February 23 at 9 am, facing Colorado State-Pueblo.
