ARLINGTON – The 29th-ranked St. Edward's men's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 victory against UAFS in the semifinal round of the Heartland Conference Championship on Friday at the Arlington Tennis Center.
The Hilltoppers (18-6) picked up their sixth consecutive victory and fourth straight shutout. St. Edward's will face third-seeded Newman in the Heartland championship match at 12 p.m. Saturday.
After collecting the doubles point with identical 6-1 victories at the first and third spots, the 'Toppers earned three singles points with a trio of wins in straight sets.
LUIS DIAZ provided the clinching point at the fourth spot with a 7-6, 6-0 win.
