FORT SMITH, Ark. - St. Edward's baseball held UAFS to runs in just two innings but were unable to get enough offensive power, falling 4-2 Saturday afternoon.

After a pair of scoreless innings, SEU was the first on the board with an RBI single by
JAKE HAHN in the third. The Lions responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead 2-1.

UAFS was able to add two more in the fourth and held SEU to just one more run on
CULLEN AINSWORTH's sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Cos and Hahn both went 2-4 from the plate to lead SEU offensively.
JESSE REED suffered the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on five hits with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work.
WESLEY GAFFORD had a strong outing in relief, scattering three hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 4.2 innings.

The Hilltoppers fall to 4-5 on the season and 4-5 in the Lone Star Conference. They return to action on Friday, facing Oklahoma Christian for a single game starting at 2pm.
