After four innings, the Greyhounds held a 2-0 lead against the Hilltoppers, but in the home half of the fifth, the Hilltoppers put up eight runs to take a commanding 8-2 lead. Two doubles and two errors were the main contributors to the eight-run inning by SEU.

A bases-loaded walk and an error allowed the Hilltoppers to tack on three more runs in the sixth, giving them a comfortable 11-2 lead entering the seventh inning.
Â
ENMU made things interesting in the ninth by adding four runs, but their rally fell short, and the Hilltoppers walked away with the victory and the series win.Â

After their series win over ENMU, the Hilltoppers now have a record of 3-1 overall and in Lone Star Conference play. Next weekend, SEU will travel to Oklahoma for a four-game series against LSC opponent Cameron.Â
