LAREDO, Texas - The St. Edward's baseball team defeated Texas A&M International in their series finale with a score of 12-5 to split the series at two games apiece.

The Hilltoppers got on the board in the top of the first after Eric Worden drew a bases-loaded walk.Â

After a scoreless second, the Hilltoppers extended their lead in the third on a Turner Olson two-run single to right field, bringing the score to 3-0.Â

The Hilltoppers drove in six runs to take a commanding 9-0 lead in the fourth. A two-run single by Stacey Bailey, an RBI single by Cullen Ainsworth, a two-run triple by Eric Worden, and an RBI single by Chase Cos allowed SEU to extend their lead.Â

Jake Hahn hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth to give the Hilltoppers a 10-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, the Dustdevils got on the board, putting up three runs to cut into the deficit. A two-run homer and an RBI single brought the score to 10-3.

After a scoreless sixth, the Hilltoppers added two more runs in the top of the seventh. A solo home run by Hunter Conner and a sacrifice allowed Morgan Allen to score to extend their lead to 12-3.Â

In the bottom of the eighth, the Dustdevils drove in two runs on two RBI singles to bring the score to 12-5.

Jack Granack picked up his fifth win pitching six innings and giving up three runs. Braden Olson, Alejandro Betancourt, Austin Essex, and Garrett Phillips combined to pitch three innings while giving up two runs on five hits in the win.
