April 14, 2022

AUSTIN, Texas - In game one of a four-game series, the St. Edward's baseball team defeated Texas A&M Kingsville 5-4.

After two quick outs in the top of the first, a single and a double put the Javelinas on the board to take a quick 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second, SEU scored their first runs of the game on a bases-clearing three-run double by Jake Hahn.

After four scoreless innings, the Javelinas tied the game in the top of the seventh. A solo home run and  RBI single to left field allowed TAMUK to tie the game at 3-3.

In the top of the eighth, the Javelinas hit their second solo home run of the game, giving them a 4-3 lead.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Hilltoppers put up two runs to retake the lead thanks to timely hits and aggressive baserunning. Chase Cos drove in the tying run on a sacrifice bunt, and Josh Graham hit a bloop single into center field to score the go-ahead run from second base.
