PITTSBURG, Kan. — The steady progression of St. Edward's women's indoor track and field continued Saturday at the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic, as the Hilltoppers delivered strong middle-distance finishes and continued expanding their competitive depth across disciplines.

DELANEY LONG led one of the meet's most impactful performances, placing 11th in the mile at 5:07.29. The finish marked another significant step forward for Long, who has emerged as a cornerstone of St. Edward's distance group this season, consistently positioning herself among the top competitors.

Long also contributed in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:28.72, reinforcing her versatility and endurance as part of a distance unit that continues to anchor the program's upward trajectory.

In the 5,000 meters, JENNA SAUNDERS paced the Hilltoppers with a time of 18:44.30, while SAMMY SALAZAR followed closely in 18:50.76 to place 24th. The pair demonstrated the growing strength and depth of St. Edward's distance program, which has steadily expanded its presence across longer events and continues to build toward championship-level competition.

The Hilltoppers' sprint and mid-distance groups continued to gain valuable experience against one of the nation's deepest indoor fields. EMORY LIMUEL led St. Edward's in the 400 meters with a time of 58.98.
