St. Edward's University Athletics

Junior (Incarnate Word) (2012): She led the Cardinals with 21 points and nine goals in her third year…she also recorded three assists and 49 shots…named LSC Offensive Player of the week during in October 2012…at the end of the season she was recognized as Daktronics all-region second-team…named to the LSC all-conference first-team and LSC all-tournament first-team…helped her team finish second at the conference tournament…made dean’s list at Incarnate Word from 2010-12.
 
Sophomore (Incarnate Word) (2011): Achieved the spot as Cardinals’ top scorer with five goals, including a pair of game-winning goals…earned Lone Star Conference (LSC) Honorable Mention honors and was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll…recorded a team high 38 shots with 22 coming on goal…opened the season by scoring two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 win over Washburn…her third goal of the season came just nine seconds after the second half whistle in a tie against Truman State…tallied her biggest goal of the season in the 89^th minute against Texas Woman’s to cement a 2-1 come from behind victory.
 
Freshman (Incarnate Word) (2010): Guenther led the Cardinals with six assists, was second on the team with six goals and tied for the team lead with 18 points…was named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region First Team and Second Team all-Lone Star Conference…scored her first career goal in a 2-1 win over #7 Colorado Mines and then tallied a goal and assist in a win over UT-Brownsville a week later…posted her first multi-goal effort in a win over Eastern New Mexico…she notched a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win at East Central. 
 
Club: Played her Club soccer with the Lions FC from 2008-10.

Prep: Lettered two years at Reagan High School and two years at Lady Bird Johnson High School in San Antonio…was an all-conference and all-region selection while playing at Johnson High School…also participated on the volleyball, track and basketball teams…was the leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)…also a part of the Biology Club.
 
Personal: Amber Denise Guenther was born on March 19, 1992…daughter of Buddy and Sandi Guenther of Lakehills, Texas…has one sibling: Ashley (24)…plans to study biology at St. Edward’s…her hobbies include paddle boarding, kayaking, and camping…her biggest athletic thrill was scoring a last-minute goal against Angelo State during the conference tournament from 25 yards out to take the game to penalty kicks. They went on to win the game in PK’s to go to the finals.
