Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The third-ranked St. Edward's women's soccer team bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 3-1 victory over St. Mary's Thursday afternoon in another installment of the Battle of the Saints series.
St. Edward's (10-1, 4-1 HC) started the game with a strong offensive attack.
LAUREN HELLER recorded a shot on goal just two minutes into the contest. Her shot came off a cornerkick by
TAYLOR WISEMAN. Heller's aggressiveness led to the first goal of the game, which came from the far right corner. She knocked in the first goal during the 22
nd minute. Heller currently leads the team with nine goals.
The aggressive play for St. Edward's continued into the second-half.
VALENCIA MOBLEY was able to give her team a scoring chance on a cornerkick during the 48
th minute.
MEGAN ANDERSON capitalized off a Rattler foul and gave the Hilltoppers a two-goal lead off a penalty kick. This was her fourth goal of the season.
RACHEL MURRAY added the insurance goal during the 81
st minute to give St. Edward's a 3-1 lead. Murray currently is second on the team is goals with a total of seven. Hilltopper goalie
DANIELLE LICARIONE made one save during the match to improve to 10-1 on the season. St. Edward's outshot St. Mary's 12-4 throughout the match.

Nick Cowell was happy with his team's performance and commented after the game. “Today's game was a battle. St. Mary's is a talented, physical team and our young team stood toe-to-toe with them. We have 14 freshmen on the squad of 22 and they are figuring out what college soccer is all about. We have strong leadership from our captain,
OLIVIA COLLADO, and the rest of the team is following her lead.”
