How It Happened
-For the third time in the last four games, St. Edward's scored in the first inning. TAYLOR JOHNSON led of the inning with a bunt single. KEVIN MAYO reached on a hit by pitch. RANSOM LALONDE followed with another hit by pitch to load the bases. CJ MANNING drove in his team-leading 16th run on a ground out. DYLAN WATTS drove in another on a fielder's choice. The Hilltoppers would add an unearned run for a 3-0 lead.
-West Texas A&M got two runs back in the bottom of the first inning, but Hilltopper starting pitcher COLLIN SHERROD was able to escape any more damage by leaving the bases loaded.
-St. Edward's get three unearned runs in innings two through four to race out to a 6-2 lead.
-With two outs in the fifth inning, Johnson reached on a single. Mayo followed with a RBI-triple to make it 7-2.
-Watts drove in another run in the eighth inning for the final Hilltopper run.
