How it happened
-The Hilltoppers got on the board first with a
KACI OLSON score. The speedy Olson got in scoring position after she stole second base.
ALLY VALDEZ singled to drive in Olson.
-Olson scored her second run of the game in the third inning that gave St. Edward's the 2-0 lead.
LAUREN BRODE provided the RBI.
-The Hilltoppers scored three runs in the fifth and saw their lead grow to 5-1.
-Angelo State rallied with a two runs in the fifth inning, cutting the St. Edward's lead 5-3.
-ALLY VALDEZ put the exclamation point on game one with a solo shot to left field and the Hilltoppers didn't look back as they took the first game of the doubleheader, 6-3.

-Valdez now leads the Heartland Conference with nine homeruns for the season.
-SARAH DEBROW went the distance pitching all seven innings and she currently leads the conference with 90 innings pitched throughout the season. She also leads the conference with 90 strikeouts.

How it happened
-Angelo State jumped on the Hilltoppers early and took the early 1-0 lead at the end of the first inning.
-The Rambelles added three runs to the score during the bottom of the second for a quick 4-0 lead.
-The Hilltoppers found their offense during the sixth inning producing five hits and three runs.
KENDALL LUCAS, Marissa Bogart, and
EMILY MAYFIELD all crossed the plate for St. Edward's.
-
CYDNEY ERVIN tied the game at four for the Hilltoppers in the top of the seventh inning, with Valdez providing the RBI.
-Angelo State would string together multiple hits and Lauren Smith would have the walk-off single that saw Kacie Easley cross home plate for the Rambelle victory.
Beyond the Box Score
-The Hilltoppers recorded 13 hits in their second game versus Angelo State. That is the fourth time this season St. Edward's registers 13 hits in a single game.
