GAME 1: St. Edward's 4, Panhandle State 0
How it Happened
-St. Edward's put up one run in the first inning. Leadoff batter KACI OLSON walked to get on base and proceeded to steal second base. A single by CYDNEY ERVIN sent Olson to third. Olson was brought home off LAUREN BRODE's sacrifice fly to center field.
-Neither team could manage a hit in the second and third innings.
-The Hilltoppers exploded for three runs in the fourth inning. With Ervin on second and Brode on first, ALLY VALDEZ hit a homer to left center that easily cleared the fence.
-The closest Panhandle State came to scoring was in the sixth inning. Kaitlin McCool and Julie Cross each hit singles. McCool attempted to steal third base, but was thrown out by catcher Kylie Herman. Cross was left on base when Brandi Heath grounded out to shortstop KENDALL LUCAS.

GAME 2: St. Edward's 3, Panhandle State 1
How it Happened
-The Hilltoppers got off to another good start with a run in the first inning. Brode singled to right field and was pushed to second after Valdez was walked. Brode was brought home off a single up the middle by FAITH ROBERTS.
-Panhandle State answered with a run of its own in the second inning. Emily Vasquez singled to right center and proceeded to steal second base. Kari Pitts singled to left field and Vasquez rounded third base. A throwing error by Lucas allowed Vasquez to score. Panhandle State would load the bases with just one out, but would leave three runners on base. On a fielder's choice, Brode threw out Pitts at home. Then, McCool grounded out to Olson.
-St. Edward's had two hits in the second inning but came up empty. Marissa Bogart singled through the left side. Off an Olson single, Bogart reached second, but she went too far off base and was tagged out off a throw from right field.
-The Hilltoppers put up two runs in the fifth inning. MARISSA THOME singled to shortstop. Brode reached on a fielder's choice and Thome advanced to third on a throwing error by the third baseman. Thome was brought home off a Valdez single to right field. Brode was brought home off a sacrifice fly to center field by Roberts.
