How It Happened
-St. Edward's started the game off right with
TAYLOR JOHNSON leading off the first with a single. He would steal second and score on a one-out double from
RANSOM LALONDE for a 1-0 lead.
-The Eagles would knot the score in the bottom of the first inning when Markus Carr led off with a double. He would score on a groundout by Jordan Lopez.
-In the bottom of the third inning, the Eagles threatened to score again but a running catch by centerfielder
BEAU ROGERS kept the home team off the board. Rogers would have to leave the game after he crashed into the centerfield wall.
-Hilltopper designated hitter
MARSHALL BURFORD would give the visitors the lead in the fifth inning, when he led off with a home run down the line in left field.
-The pitching staff took over from there, allowing just two hits the rest of the way.

KYLE SEITHEL picked up the win in his first start of the season, allowing one run on four hits, while striking out six in 6.0 innings of work.

MATT DAVIS threw the final 2.2 innings without allowing a hit to pick up his third save of the year.
