Game 1
How It Happened
-St. Edward's got the scoring started in the first inning when
RANSOM LALONDE reached on a two-out single. He stole second, and after a walk to
CJ MANNING,
DYLAN WATTS singled home LaLonde for the first run of the game.
-Panhandle State would knot the score with a run in the bottom of the first inning on three hits, but the run would be unearned as the Hilltoppers committed two errors.
-Hilltopper starting pitcher
BRANNON EASTERLING continued his dominant performance streak from there. He would scatter four hits the rest of the way and not allow a runner past second base.
-St. Edward's would get the winning run in the fifth inning when
BEAU ROGERS reached on a one-out single. He would steal second base, and after
TAYLOR JOHNSON reached on a hit by pitch, he would swipe third.
AJ HERMANSON then drove in Rogers with a fielder's choice.

-Easterling has been outstanding in his last five starts, recording a 4-0 record with a 0.48 ERA. He has also struck out 20 batters and walked just two in 37.2 innings of work.

How It Happened
-The Hilltoppers once again got off to a great start in the first inning, scoring two runs off one hit and two Aggie errors.
-After the Aggies got a run back in the bottom of the first, both teams would go scoreless the next five innings.
-In the top of the sixth, St. Edward's got two more runs to increase its lead to 4-1. Manning led off the inning with a walk. He advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. After a single by
WES KOENIG and a walk by
CUTTER RUNTE loaded the bases, Hermanson would single home Manning. Rogers would drive in Koenig with a groundout to give the Hilltoppers the two-run advantage.

PAUL SMITH would keep the Aggies off of the board, allowing just the one run and scattering seven hits.
KYLE SEITHEL threw two scoreless innings in relief, while
VITO LORENZINI pitched the ninth and struck out the side.
-St. Edward's broke the game wide open in the top of the ninth with six runs for the 10-1 victory. The big hit came from
NATE BOBROWSKI who laced a three-run triple.
