How It Happened
-St. Edward's got on the board first in the second inning when CJ MANNING reached on a leadoff single. After NATE BOBROWSKI advanced him to second on a sacrifice bunt, MARSHALL BURFORD singled him home for a 1-0 lead.
-After TAMU-Kingsville tied the game in the third inning, the Hilltoppers took the lead again by scoring two runs in the fourth inning. Again, it was Manning as the catalyst as he singled to lead off the inning. With one out, Burford doubled down the line in left field to put runners at second and third. DYLAN WATTS scored Manning with a groundout to shortstop and RYAN DOLEZAL came through with a two-out single to score Burford and make it 3-1.
-St. Edward's would blow the game wide open with four runs in the sixth inning. Dolezal had another RBI-single and CUTTER RUNTE drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk. RANSOM LALONDE drove in two more with a double to make it 7-1.
-In the ninth inning, the Hilltoppers would add three insurance runs with LaLonde scoring on an error and Burford putting a cap on things with his team-leading sixth home run of the year to score he and Manning.
 
Beyond the Box Score
-KYLE SEITHEL was brilliant on the mound for the Hilltoppers, allowing one run on five hits in 7.0 innings of work for his second victory of the season.
-After registering just five hits in a loss to UT-Permian Basin on Friday, the Hilltopper offense has had double-digit hits in each of their last three games to push their team average above .300 at .301. They have also drawn 14 walks during those games.
-With hits tonight, Burford extends his hitting streak to six games and Manning pushes his to five games.
-In the DII Baseball South Central Regional Poll, St. Edward's is ranked third and TAMU-Kingsville is fourth.

Up Next
The Hilltoppers will be back in action this weekend with their biggest series left on the regular season. St. Edward's will travel to take on conference leader St. Mary's for a three-game series. Saturday's doubleheader will take place at the San Antonio ISD Sports Complex adjacent to SA Burbank High School.
