How It Happened
-St. Edward's struck first in the first inning when TAYLOR JOHNSON led off with a single. After advancing to second on a walk to CJ MANNING, NATE BOBROWSKI would get the Hilltoppers on the board with an RBI-single.
-McMurry would fight back with two runs in the top of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
-The Hilltoppers answered with two runs in the bottom of the third inning. WES KOENIG came up with the big hit, driving in two with his single.
-The Hilltopper pitching staff cruised from there, allowing just two hits during the fourth through eighth innings.
-In the ninth inning, the War Hawks rallied to tie the game with a big one-out double by Eric Moritz.
-St. Edward's would get two runners on with one out in the bottom of the ninth but back-to-back strikeouts killed the rally.
-After McMurry scored two runs in the top of the 10^th inning, St. Edward's loaded the bases with two outs but came up empty dropping the game, 5-3.
