AUSTIN, Texas - The St. Edward's Women's Basketball team put on an impressive showing Tuesday night at the Recreation and Convocation Center, defeating cross-town rival, Huston-Tillotson, 96-58.

Two minutes and thirty seconds into the game, the Hilltoppers found themselves scoreless, and in in an early six-point hole. A quick timeout by Head Coach J.J. Riehl sharpened the team's focus and the Hilltoppers never looked back.

Over the next 10 minutes of play, St. Edward's (2-0), would go on a 31-10 run. During the stretch, the Hilltoppers displayed a well-balanced attack. Senior
AIMEE DURBIDGE contributed with six points, and sophomore
KATY BOREN, provided a huge spark off the bench, netting two three pointers and adding eight total points over the span.

Heading into the locker room, St. Edward's would hold a 49-29 lead over Huston-Tillotson (0-1). At the break,
MILEKA LOYDRAKE was the games only double-digit scorer with 10 points, and she had four assists as well.

St. Edward's would carry its momentum into the second half and receive significant contributions from an abundance of players.

Saturday's offensive standouts
LEXI FATHEREE and Loydrake continued to shine on the offensive end. Both Hilltoppers would finish with 16 points each. Additionally, Loydrake finished with seven assists on the night and no turnovers.

Three other Hilltoppers would finish with double digits.
KATHLEEN BRISBANE looked to be finding her form, as she recorded 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Brisbane also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. The Aussie,
AIMEE DURBIDGE, had another solid all-around game as she tallied 10 points, five rebounds, along with five steals and two blocks on the defensive end. The sharpshooter, Boren, was on target, as she drained three shots from beyond the arc in the victory, and finished with 11 points.

Thirteen different Hilltoppers scored, as St. Edward's went on to its second win of the early season, 96-58.

"Other than the slow start, we are pleased with the win. I was most gratified with the energy and enthusiasm our bench brought tonight, and it showed immediately when they checked into the game," Riehl said.
