AUSTIN, Texas – The 25
th-ranked St. Edward's men's tennis team dominated Heartland Conference rival Dallas Baptist, 9-0, Friday afternoon at the Strohmeyer Varsity Courts.
St. Edward's (2-5) won all three doubles matches in easy fashion, dropping no more than two games in any of the matches.
In singles play, St. Edward's was again on its game, winning all is matches. Five of those matches were taken in straight sets.
ALEXANDRE BUENO lost his first set, but rallied to win his second, and take down hi opponent in a third set super tiebreaker.
"We have played some really tough competition early this season and I am very confident we are now ready for upcoming conference and regional play," head coach
Russell Sterns said. "It was nice to win in a convincing manner against our first Heartland Conference opponent."
St. Edward's will be back in action Friday when they host NCAA Division III powerhouse Trinity
. First-serve is set for 3 p.m. at the Strohmeyer Varsity Courts.
