AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's women's tennis team rebounded from a Saturday loss at home to take down Texas A&M-Kingsville, 7-2, Sunday morning at the Strohmeyer Varsity Courts.
 
In doubles play, St. Edward's took all three matches. They won handily in all three matches, including an 8-5 victory by BREANNE HESSELTINE and TATIANA MARCHIZANO at the number three spot over Eleni Anastasova and Alexandra Carillo.
 
In singles play, St. Edward's (8-10) won at the top four spots, all in straight sets to clinch the match. Due to an injured player, each St. Edward's player had to play up a position from the norm and they performed by taking the match 7-2.
 
"After a tough loss yesterday, I was really proud of how we came out today and got the job done," head coach Kendall Brooks said. "It was a great way to finish out the regular season and hopefully create some momentum heading into the conference tournament in two weeks."
 
St. Edward's will be back in action Friday, April 25th when it takes part in this year's Heartland Conference Championship. The Hilltoppers will take on top-seeded St. Mary's in the semifinals on Friday in San Antonio. Match time has yet to be determined.
