AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's Baseball team used two strong pitching performances to sweep a doubleheader against Lubbock Christian Friday afternoon at Hays Field.
Game 1In the first game,
COLLIN SHERROD stole the show, throwing seven strong innings against the Chaps. Sherrod allowed one run on four hits, including four strikeouts and only one walk.
Sherrod, however, would surrender the games first run, as Lubbock Christian (15-15, 3-6 HC) would get on the board first.

In the inning, AJ Hermanson hit a bases-clearing triple to center, and would later be knocked in on a
GABLE WHITACRE single to make the score, 6-1.
St. Edward's would cruise behind the gem from Sherrod, who would improve to 5-1 on the year.
Game 2 St. Edward's' pitching continued to shine in the second affair, as
BRYCE DAVIS threw a complete game. Davis allowed three hits, no earned runs, had four strikeouts, and allowed no walks as he garnered his fifth win of the season.
The Hilltopper bats stayed hot in the contest as well, scoring eight runs on 11 hits. St. Edward's jumped out to an early 5-0 lead by the top of the fourth.
In the bottom of the fourth Lubbock Christian would score four runs to cut the deficit to one.
The Hilltoppers would add two runs in eighth on a
