 Junior 2015: Served as the ace on St. Edward’s pitching staff, going 8-1 in 16 starts over 108.2 innings of work…produced an ERA of 2.73 for the season with 99 strikeouts and 25 walks…faced 409 batters, and held them to an average of .249…tallied three shutouts and eight complete games…Led the Heartland Conference in strikeouts, and tied for first in starts…ranked second in league for innings-pitched, fourth in wins, and sixth in ERA…finished the year in St. Edward’s top-10 in six single-season categories…best game of the year came against St. Mary’s (5/9) where he pitched 8.2 innings, and surrendered just one earned run with eight strikeouts in the win…struck out 12 batters against Drury (2/20) and 10 at Ouachita Baptist (2/1)…helped St. Edward’s win its third-straight conference tournament title.

Sophomore 2014: In his second year for St. Edwards he started and appeared in 16 games…registered a 2.32 earned-run average and a .201 batting average against …finished the season with a 10-2 win-loss record…had a notable performance against St. Mary’s (5/10) compiling a career-high 12 strikeouts.

Freshman 2013: Appeared in 16 games and made nine starts in his first season at St. Edward’s…finished seventh in the Heartland Conference with a 2.18 ERA…registered six wins and only one loss on the season…finished ninth in conference striking out 59 batters…pitched seven innings against Heartland Conference opponent Panhandle State (04/27/13) and only allowed one hit and struck out six batters…pitched six innings against Grand Canyon (05/29/13) at the NCAA DII World Series, helping the Hilltoppers to the victory, 9-5.

Prep: Played four years of baseball at Naaman Forest High School…his freshman season, he was named as the district newcomer of the year…during that year he helped his team reach the playoffs…his sophomore season he was named to the all-district second-team as a pitcher…the following year he earned a spot on the first-team all-district…that same year he helped his team to a playoff berth…set the school record for career strikeouts as a pitcher with 211…member of the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Society.
Personal: Collin Wayne Sherrod was born on Jan. 30, 1994…son of Tim and Lisa Sherrod of Garland, Texas…has two siblings: Nicole (29) and Samantha (27)…plans to study accounting at St. Edward’s with career hopes of becoming a forensic accountant…enjoys bowling and playing PlayStation 3…his biggest athletic thrill is pitching in the Mickey Mantle World Series two years in a row.
